Rescheduling your family portrait session


Oh no! We need to reschedule your photo session! It happens more often than you’d think. I get a lot of follow-up questions from my photography clients about potentially rescheduling their photo sessions and hope to alleviate your concerns here.

What should I do if someone in my family is sick?

First and foremost, do not bring any sick family members to your photo shoot. It’s a lot more fun when everyone is happy and healthy! As a Sydney family portrait photographer, I want to ensure that the experience is joyful and relaxed for everyone. Just get in touch and we can find a date (I keep a few spots open each month for this exact reason).

What if I have a family emergency or a work trip comes up?

Life happens, and I understand that unexpected events can arise. Please give me as much notice as you can (I am a dad to three gorgeous girls, so I have a busy schedule too!). For example, if hubby gets called into work last minute, we definitely should reschedule because the last thing you want is to have dad missing from your beautiful family portraits.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

This is the number one reason for rescheduling photo sessions. As your trusted Sydney family photographer, I know how important the right conditions are for perfect photos. Usually, we can adjust your session date by a day or two to a nicer day. If your schedule isn’t flexible, we can head over to my studio, which is only a few minutes from the outdoor location.

How long will I have to wait to find an available date if I reschedule?

Typically, not too long! I leave open dates throughout every month specifically for rescheduling. As an experienced family photographer in Sydney, I understand the importance of capturing those special moments and will do my best to fit you in as soon as possible.

What are my options if I can no longer afford the session?

I’m happy to work out a payment plan if you would like to proceed with your session. If you’d prefer to cancel, please read the next question.

How do I cancel my session?

If you give me at least a 10-day heads up (per your signed agreement), your session fee is 100% refundable. Within that window, you forfeit the session fee but aren’t liable to pay anything extra.
