Sometimes the best connections happen when you least expect it. I met Hannah and Joseph at a packed pregnancy expo in 2022. The noise, the crowds—it was all a bit overwhelming, but despite all that, we instantly clicked. They were relaxed, easygoing, and totally my kind of people. It was one of those moments where I just knew: these guys are going to be a dream to work with.
They disappeared into the crowd for a while, and then came back to tell me I was the only photographer there who wasn’t being pushy or salesy. And honestly, that meant the world to me. It felt like the perfect sign that we were on the same page, and it turns out I was right!
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing their journey—starting with their pregnancy, then their first baby, and just recently, their second.
Every session has felt like catching up with friends, and it’s been amazing to see their family grow and change over the years.
What I love most about working with Hannah and Joseph is how natural it feels. Our sessions are never forced or rushed; it’s just me, my camera, and them being themselves—talking about our travel plans (we were in Yosemite national park at the same time! Uncanny) and the highs and lows of parenting.
It’s about capturing real moments, not just posing for the camera. With them, it’s effortless. They bring such a genuine energy to every shoot, and I feel lucky to be able to capture that for them.
One of the best parts of working with Hannah and Joseph has been seeing their portraits displayed in my hand-crafted timber portrait boxes. They’ve got one for each of their kids, which is such a great idea for a family keepsake. These boxes are designed to hold the memories that matter most—timeless moments of their growing family, preserved in a beautiful, tangible way.
Looking back on our journey together, I can’t help but feel so grateful. It’s been an honour to photograph Hannah and Joseph through these major milestones, and to be a part of their family’s story.
Sessions like these remind me why I love what I do—capturing real moments, creating lasting memories, and forming connections that go beyond just photography.
