When should you do newborn photos? Short answer:

When should you do newborn photos?

Short answer: whenever you feel ready.

Sure, there’s a sweet spot in those first 10 days — when they’re all sleepy, squishy, and curled up like a little croissant (milk drunk and totally unaware of the camera). That’s ideal if you want those classic teeny-tiny newborn photos.

But here’s the thing… every stage has its own kind of magic:

👉 At 1–2 months, they’re starting to interact, eyes wide open, maybe even smiling at you.
👉 At 4–6 months, they’re full of giggles, rolling around, maybe sitting up — and you can even take it outdoors!

Some mums need time to settle in. Some want to wait until bub’s vaccinated. Some are just trying to catch their breath. And all of that is completely OK.

Because your baby will be beautiful and photographable at every stage. You’re not “too late” — ever.

Your photos will tell your story, in your season. And that’s what matters most.
