Why this campaign exists

In 2021, my brother-in-law, Mark, suffered a massive heart attack and was placed on life support.

Thanks to the miracle workers at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, he was given a second chance at life - receiving an unbelievable and complex surgery to be fitted with an LVAD (a mechanical heart), which was a bridging device until he received a life-saving heart transplant.

His story not only involves the incredible medical team, but also the families who watch a loved one suffer, and the selfless donor families who make an incredibly difficult, yet life-saving decision to give the gift of life to someone in need.

So I'm on a mission to give back - and I'd love for you to be part of it. ❤️

Your photo shoot

A fully guided, relaxed session in studio or outdoors. No awkward posing. Just connection, laughter, and real moments - captured beautifully.

Design consultation

Sink into my studio sofa and enjoy your photos for the first time on the big screen. I'll guide you through choosing your favourites and designing artwork that suits your home perfectly.

Artwork collection

In 2–3 weeks your finished artwork is ready to collect. Hang it. Admire it. Remember that you did something brave and beautiful - and that it went towards saving lives.

About the photographer

G'day! I'm Jay.

Being a dad to three (STUNNING) girls has shown me just how important it is to be in the photos, not just taking them.

I know what it’s like to have a camera roll full of the people you love, and almost nothing of yourself with them. That’s not how any family story should be told.

My approach is pretty simple: I get to know you before we shoot, I keep the session relaxed and fun, and I make sure the final result actually feels like you — not a posed version of you you don’t recognise.

Whether your kids are absolute chaos or picture-perfect angels (or both, depending on the hour), you can trust me to capture them, just as they are.

Here’s the honest answer: the “perfect version” you’re waiting for may never arrive. And the version of your kids that exists right now – this age, this stage, this specific way they reach for your hand – is already disappearing. Where does the $190 actually go?

$90 of your participation fee is donated directly to St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney to support important medical research. On top of that, 5% of everything you purchase (artwork, digitals, albums etc.) is also donated. This is my small way of giving back for what the incredible medical team did for Mark.

You’ll receive a fully guided portrait session, a big-screen design consultation, and $150 in artwork credit. The credit is yours to spend on whatever you love at your design consultation. I have a range of stunning, hand-crafted artwork products for you choose from, including framed prints, canvases and portrait albums.

I have no idea what to wear. Help?

I’ve got you covered! Before your session, I provide personalised styling guidance to help you put together a cohesive look for the whole family. Whether you love bright colours or prefer muted tones, I’ll help you find a direction that feels like you.

Can my partner, other kids or pets come?

Absolutely. The focus of this campaign is the mum-and-kids bond, but the whole family is welcome. Partners, siblings, grandparents, and yes – pets too. I can start with the mum-and-kids portraits and add more combinations from there, so everyone is included in a way that feels natural.

How far is the studio? Do I need to travel?

My studio is located in Sutherland, about 45 minutes south of Sydney CBD, with easy parking. Sessions take place in Jay’s private, light-filled studio, or if you prefer an outdoor/nature vibe, we can do it at a gorgeous river-side reserve near the studio. Sydney-wide families make the trip regularly and say it’s well worth it.

What happens after I apply?

If your application is successful, I’ll be in touch within 2 days for a no-pressure discovery call to get to know you and your family. I’ll answer any remaining questions, walk you through the experience, and book your date. There’s no commitment until you decide you’re ready to move forward.
